Variants

  • 10A 3 pin earthed (Brazil & South Africa)
  • 16A 3 pin earthed (South Africa only)
  • 20A 3 pin earthed (Brazil only)

The 10A plugs have 4mm pins, the 16A version uses 4.5mm pins and the 20A version uses 4.8mm pins. In every variant the live and neutral pins are spaced 19mm apart with the earth pin placed centrally. The standard 10A plug adaptors used by British travellers will fit all three socket variants.

Yes, many type N adaptors have integral USB, USB-C and sometimes PD ports.

Most universal adaptors do not have a type N plug. The Skross Pro World is a notable exception and has a movable earth pin which allows it to connect to type J, L and N sockets but they are not common.

Yes, they are cross compatible and can be used safely. Type C plugs are 2 pin (unearthed) and are therefore not suitable for connecting earthed appliances.
