Variants

  • 10A 3 prong grounded (Brazil & South Africa)
  • 16A 3 prong grounded (South Africa only)
  • 20A 3 prong grounded (Brazil only)

The 10A plugs have 4mm prongs, the 16A version uses 4.5mm prongs and the 20A version uses 4.8mm prongs. In every variant the live and neutral prongs are spaced 19mm apart with the ground prong placed centrally. The standard 10A plug adapters used by American travelers will fit all three outlet variants.

Yes, many type N adapters have integral USB, USB-C and sometimes PD ports.

Most universal adapters do not have a type N plug. The Skross Pro World is a notable exception and has a movable ground prong which allows it to connect to type J, L and N outlets but they are not common.

Yes, they are cross compatible and can be used safely. Type C plugs are 2 prong (ungrounded) and are therefore not suitable for connecting grounded appliances.
