Compatible with: Type D outlets only. Type C, E & F plugs have partial compatibility with type D outlets as they will fit but their pins are slightly smaller resulting in a loose fit which is unsafe.

A type D travel adapter will convert your American (type A/B) plugs to a 3 prong (grounded) configuration that will fit the type D (6A) outlets found in India, Nepal and Namibia. They do not convert the voltage or frequency of the electrical supply.

No, type D are rated at 6A whereas type M are rated at 16A and have larger diameter pins with wider spacing. Type D plugs will not fit type M outlets and vice versa.

Yes, but not safely. The prongs on a type C plug are 4mm in diameter whereas the type D outlet is designed to accept 5.1mm diameter prongs. Whille the spacing will allow the plug to be physically inserted it makes a loose fit which can lead to sparking and is dangerous. Type C plugs are 2 prong (ungrounded) and are therefore not suitable for connecting grounded appliances.
